An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Movie Paper Banner (measures 24" x 82" [61 x 208 cm]) (Learn More)

Pygmy Island (also released as "Jungle Jim in Pygmy Island"), the 1950 William A. Berke adventure thriller ("Masked enemies ambush Army in Johnny's jungle!"; "Johnny drives America's enemies out of jungle frontier!"; "Based upon the famous Jungle Jim King Features Syndicate newspaper feature") starring Johnny Weissmuller ("as Jungle Jim"), Ann Savage, David Bruce, Steven Geray, Jean Byron, James Seay, Jeanne Dean, and Steve Calvert (as the man in the gorilla suit!). Note that in 1948, Steve Calvert bought Ray 'Crash' Corrigan's gorilla costume, which Corrigan had been using in movies since at least 1932. He appeared in 12 movies between 1948 and 1958 as a gorilla wearing Corrigan's costume!
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that the photo on this paper banner was printed on a separate sheet and then attached to that area of the banner (see our image - this was commonly done with paper banners, and some 30x40s and 40x60s of this period). This is how the poster was created.

Note that this item can be shipped in a standard size tube. However, the poster itself is extremely long, so it can't be combined with other rolled posters, which is why it is in this set of auctions of "very oversized" items. Also note that this is a paper banner that can be combined solely with other paper banners, but NOT with any other rolled posters in this set of auctions, because they would get damaged by being combined.

Condition: very good.
