An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Some Like It Hot, the classic 1959 Billy Wilder (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) romantic musical cross-dressing drag crime comedy ("Hot!!!"; about two out of work musicians who happen to witness the St. Valentine's Day Massacre in Chicago, and they need to leave town in a hurry, but the only jobs they can get is with an all-girl band, and they dress in drag, and one of the band members is Marilyn Monroe!) starring Marilyn Monroe ("and her bosom companions"), Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), George Raft, Pat O'Brien, and Joe E. Brown (the great star of 1920s and 1930s slapstick comedy, who practically steals this movie with a wonderful comic performance and an unforgettable final line!) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good to very good. The card has two tiny staple holes in the lower right of the "O" of "HOT" near the center of the card. It has faint brown stains in the top center and faint smudges around the edges and in the yellow background areas. There is a faint smudge in Curtis' arm, extending into Marilyn's hand and the yellow background by the hand and arm, and slightly on Curtis' chin. Someone wrote "9/90" in pencil near the middle of the right border. There is a piece of tape on the back of the center of the top border, but it was not put there for any restoration purpose. The card has never had any sort of restoration. I would think many collectors would be happy to display this wonderful card just as it is. Certainly, a talented restorer could likely remove most or all of the smudges (and the faint stains at top center) through chemical means without backing the card, but that will be a choice for the new owner!
