An Original Vintage Magazine Fold-Out Poster (measures 21 1/4" x 32") (Learn More) Science Fantasy Film Classics, the fold-out poster which was removed from Vol. 1, Number 1 of Science Fantasy Film Classics magazine, the Winter 1977 issue. The first issue of this magazine included this fold-out poster, which incorporated elements drawn from three movies, which are the focus of articles in this issue of the magazine: Star Wars, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and Forbidden Planet. The poster is by Michael Stein and Geff Darrow (Stein was also the art director of the magazine and Darrow's first name was written as "Geff", "Geoff", and "Jeff" in different parts of the magazine!). The reverse side of the poster has pages from the magazine printed on it. This auction is solely for the fold-out poster and not for the complete magazine. We have pictured what is on the reverse, to better help bidders gauge the condition of the poster. Note that this special "all Star Wars" auction began with a phone call from a VERY long time collector of Star Wars posters! He told us that he had reached a point in his life where he was wanting to sell his collection, and he asked if we could do it all at one time. Because he had 174 posters (including many of the most rare and desirable ones), we were happy to comply, but we told him that we would like to also add additional rare Star Wars posters from other collectors, and he agreed, and after we were consigned an additional 117 posters and related items, we have our auction! This item is one of the additional 117 items that we were consigned from other collectors. They REALLY came through with wonderful additional items that really add to the overall auction! Condition: good to very good. As noted above, the poster was bound into the middle of the magazine. It has tiny paper loss at two of the staple holes, and it has additional folds at a slight diagonal. There is tiny separation at the right end of the top and bottom folds.
