Her passions bared!"; "The most exciting story of the world's most exciting city!"; "Filmed through the eyes of New York's homicide squad"; "Terrifically told by the man who knew New York best"; "Terrifically told by Manhattan's Modern O. Henry"; "Filmed on the streets of New York with a cast of 8 Million New Yorkers!"; "Actually filmed on the sidewalks of New York!"; "From a Story by Malvin Wald"; note that this film was shot 100% on location, and was hailed at the time for its accurate depiction of police and police work) starring Barry Fitzgerald, Howard Duff, Dorothy Hart, Don Taylor, Frank Conroy, Ted de Corsia, House Jameson, Paul Ford, David Opatoshu, Mark Hellinger (who produced the film and provided the narration), Tom Pedi, Nicholas Joy, Walter Burke, and Arthur O'Connell NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Schulz Neudamm Important Added Info: Note that, immediately after World War II, the U.S. occupied Japan and part of Germany, and many American movies were shown in both countries between 1945 and the end of the occupation. Most of the Japanese posters we have seen from that period and many of the German posters and programs from the same period have a "Motion Picture Export Association" circular printed logo on the poster or program, and apparently this was a program run in conjunction with the U.S. government. Since there were many U.S. servicemen in Japan and Germany at this time, many of these posters and programs have the title written in both Japanese (or German) and in English, and they are from the first release of that movie in that country. Also note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of this pressbook (if the back cover is not the poster page, we photographed the interior poster page), and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Also note that this German pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners received pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut! Condition: good to very good, NO CUTS. There are two punch holes at the spine of all pages, but otherwise, the pressbook is in nice condition. Learn More about condition grades
