An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Edgar Allan Poe's The Raven, the classic 1935 Lew Landers (billed as "Louis Friedlander") Universal horror thriller (VERY loosely based on the famous poem by Edgar Allan Poe; about a crazy plastic surgeon who saves a girl's life, but is rejected by her so he mutilates the face of a criminal to have him kidnap the girl after which he promises to restore the criminal's face!) starring Boris Karloff ("The uncanny master of make-up in a new amazing shocker"), Bela Lugosi (billed as "Bela 'Dracula' Lugosi"), Irene Ware, Lester Matthews, Inez Courtney, Samuel S. Hinds, and Ian Wolfe NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that in 1998 and 2001, we auctioned six different cards from this classic movie, but none since, and the card we are auctioning now is NOT one of the six we auctioned in the past, so it is the very first time we have auctioned it! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: very good. The card had tiny paper loss in the top right corner, with tiny pinholes in the corners. It had some minor smudges in the borders and a tiny bit of surface paper loss in the background below the right of the girl's hair. Otherwise, the card was in nice condition prior to restoration. A talented restorer gel backed the card (meaning they backed the card onto a gel material) and they then performed excellent restoration to the above defects, and then removed the gel backing, so that the card still exactly looks and feels like an original card (and it is!), with no backing at all. You can see slight signs of the restoration, but the card displays really well! Learn More about condition grades
