A Vintage Softcover Book (measures 9" x 12" [23 x 30 cm]; 32 pages) (Learn More)

Paramount Progress & Profits 1917-18, the 1917 softcover book published by Paramount Pictures giving "The story of Paramount Pictures, data about the new plan of distribution, the stars and the number of pictures in which they will appear for the coming year 1917-1918". This is a forerunner of the studio yearbooks (also called campaign books). This is the earliest one from Paramount we have ever auctioned, and the next one after this is from 1921-22, and by then, it had the more traditional layout of a campaign book, although it still only had 48 pages (this one has 32 pages). This book has full-page ads for their top stars, with images on one side of the page and biographies of the star on the other side, plus more, as described above in the blurb that is on the cover. This book is surely incredibly rare!
Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this book! Also note that we have pictured the front cover and several interior 2-page spreads.

Condition: very good. The covers are mostly separated at the spine, and there is some minor wear on both covers. Otherwise, the book is in pretty nice condition!
