An Original Vintage Theatrical German 9 3/4" x 12" [25 x 30 cm] Movie Still (Learn More)

Der Morder Dimitri Karamasof (released in English-speaking countries as "The Brothers Karamazov"), the 1931 Fyodor Otsep & Erich Engles German family relationship romantic love triangle murder melodrama (based on the novel by Fyodor Dostoevsky; about a rich father with four very different sons, and one of his sons falls in love with one of his mistresses, with tragic consequences) starring Fritz Kortner, Anna Sten, Fritz Rasp, Bernhard Minetti, and Max Pohl. This was the German version of this movie, made by Terra-Filmkunst in 1931. Universal did the same thing with "Dracula" in 1931. They filmed the movie twice, once in English, and once in Spanish, with two entirely different casts, U.S. actors for the English version and mostly Latin actors for the Spanish version, obviously for release in Spanish speaking countries, and the same was done with this movie, except it was only made in German and French (the French language version was called "Les freres Karamazov", and had the same lead stars and was released the same year). If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that this movie was remade in 1958 starring Yul Brynner (and William Shatner in one of his early pre-Star Trek roles, as the brother who is a monk.)

Important Added Info: Note that this is a "country of origin" still for this German movie! Also note that this German still measures 9 3/4" x 12" [25 x 30 cm].

Condition: fair to good. There are creases around the edges, with paper loss in the left blank borders and a tear in the lower right corner of the image. There are stains in the top border and some scattered throughout the still (see our image).
