An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

There's Always a Woman, the 1938 Alexander Hall romantic murder mystery crime comedy ("There's never a dull moment!"; "A new laugh hit from the studio that gave you 'The Awful Truth'!"; "From the popular American Magazine story by Wilson Collison"; Blondell and Douglas are husband and wife private detectives, and they get involved in solving a murder) starring Joan Blondell ("Radiant as ever... in an exciting romance!"), Melvyn Douglas, Mary Astor, Frances Drake, Jerome Cowan, and Rita Hayworth (in a small role that became much smaller when the film was cut down at the last minute, and she was therefore uncredited!). Note that this movie was intended to be a Columbia Studios version of MGM's highly successful series that started with "The Thin Man". But this movie had only modest success, and there was a single sequel, "There's That Woman Again" the following year, with Virginia Bruce taking over Blondell's role, and then the idea was dropped.

Important Added Info: Note that this card has a stamp on the back that indicates it came from the legendary "Cozy Theater" collection!

Condition: good to very good. The card has slightly darkened, typical of some Columbia lobby cards of this period. There are pinholes and some paper loss around the edges. There is a scuff in the forehead of the border art of Douglas, and a pinhole in the bottom center of the image. See our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this card. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back!
