An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, the 1964 Nicholas Webster cult family science fiction (sci-fi) Christmas holiday fantasy thriller ("Santa brings Christmas fun to Mars! Blast off for Mars... With Santa and a pair of Earth Kids! Science-Fun-Fiction at its height!"; "See: The Martians kidnap Santa! Santa's North Pole Workshop! The Fantastic Martian Toy Factory! Earth Kids Meeting With Martian Kids! Space-ship journey from Earth to Mars! Santa turn Mars-Robot into a Mechanical Toy!"; "SAT.-SUN. Matinee Special"; "in space blazing color"; "Santa kidnapped by Martians") starring John Call, Leonard Hicks, Vincent Beck, Bill McCutcheon, and Pia Zadora (who was ten years old and is prominently pictured on the poster. Much later, she would marry a billionaire and become a cult figure for her performances in various movies, including Butterfly, for which her husband bought her the "Best New Actress" Golden Globe award as a present!) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that there is a color 8" x 10" still from "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" which shows the Oompa-Loompas attached to the back of this lobby card (see below for why)! Also note that the back of this card was overprinted with a solid rectangular border with interior dimensions of 8" x 10". This was commonly done in the 1950s so that old lobby cards could be re-used as "frames" for 8x10 stills. This IS an original lobby card, and since the overprinting on the back does not affect the front, most collectors consider it a minor defect. NOTE: Most lobby cards from before 1940 (and some from after that date) did not have individual lobby card numbers like later lobby cards (those printed after the advent of NSS in 1940) did. So we have arbitrarily assigned numbers to unnumbered lobby cards, only when we sell more than one from a set, so that there is a convenient way to tell different scenes apart. (Note that we do not use #1, because this is commonly used to signify the title card). The exception to this is sets of cards that did not have title cards. Condition: very good.
