An Original Vintage Theatrical Promotional Movie Brochure (measures 14" x 18" [36 x 46 cm]; 12 pages) (Learn More)

Untel Pere et Fils (released in the U.S. as "The Heart of a Nation"), the 1943 Julien Duvivier French war romantic melodrama (about how the people of Paris cope with the wars through the years, from the siege of the city by the Prussians during the Franco-Prussian War of 1871 to the invasion by the Germans in World War II) starring Michele Morgan, Raimu, Louis Jouvet, Suzy Prim, Charles Boyer (billed as "introduced by Charles Boyer"), "and an all-star cast". Note that this movie started filming early in 1940. It was completed in June of 1940, just days before the Nazis conquered France and entered Paris, and they seized the existing negatives and prints of all movies, and this one was banned and it was thought that nothing survived from it. Two years later, a print was discovered that had been smuggled out of Paris in June 1940, and it was distributed throughout the world by A.F.E. Corporation of New York City. We don't know how wide a distribution it received, because we have only ever auctioned an oversized promo brochure and a single still, and nothing else from any release!
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned a single U.S. still from this French movie, and NO other movie paper until we received this promo brochure (which is the one described above in our description of the movie)!

Condition: good. This very oversized brochure was once partially folded across the middle and there are stains on both covers. The interior pages are in pretty nice condition!
