An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

Daughter of the Tong, the 1939 Bernard B. Ray (billed as "Raymond K. Johnson") crime film noir action thriller (a wacky story of a fictional major city whose Chinatown is ruled by a gang led by a woman who is known as "Carney", and also as "The Illustrious One", and also as "The Daughter of the Tong", and it is a complicated story of an FBI agent posing as a hit man to infiltrate the gang, and there is a pretty woman whose brother is held hostage by the gang, but everything works out in the end) starring Evelyn Brent (in the title role as the Daughter of the Tong), Grant Withers, Dorothy Short, Dave O'Brien, and Dirk Thane. Note that star Evelyn Brent was one of those women who got started in the very beginning of Hollywood, in 1915, when she was just 16. She became a major leading lady of the 1920s, and she successfully transitioned to sound in the 1930s, but as she grew older, the major roles diminished, and she moved to the second tier studios and starred in B-movies! She continued acting until 1950, and she passed away in 1975, at the age of 76.

Important Added Info: Note that first release 1939 movie posters from this movie are incredibly rare. We have never sold even a single poster from this movie until we received this one-sheet! Also note that the poster has very narrow blank borders, but it measures 27" x 41". Since it does not appear to be trimmed, we must assume it was just created with very narrow borders (we have never seen another example of the poster to compare it to).

Condition: good to very good. There are creases along the top and bottom quarters of the vertical fold, with some creases and scuffs scattered throughout the poster. There are pinholes in the corners. There was separation in the center of the top horizontal fold, and someone put 9" of tape on the back of that area, and also tape on the back of a few other separations.
