An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (pb; measures 15" x 21 3/4" [38 x 55 cm]; 10 pages) (Learn More)

Sweet Surrender, the 1935 Monte Brice New York City Paris France cruise ship mistaken identity romantic musical ("Here it is!"; "The Filmusical romance with stars of stage, screen & radio"; "Filmed aboard the palatial S.S. Normandie"; "The Million Dollar Fashion Parade with The Famous Milgrim Models"; there is a complicated plot involving a radio singer and a ballet dancer, and another couple, but really it is just a framework for lots of singing and dancing, and by having the stars start in New York City, and take a cruise on the S.S. Normandie, and then go to Paris, France, there are tons of wonderful locations as well!) starring Frank Parker, Tamara ("Radio's Sensational Singing Star"), Jack Dempsey, Helen Lynd, Arthur Pierson, The Tune Twisters, and Abe Lyman and his Californians. Note that there is a sequence early in the movie where the stars meet at Jack Dempsey's famous restaurant in New York City (which the former heavyweight champion had opened after he retired), and the legendary boxer himself appeared in that scene in a cameo role, and he is prominently billed and pictured on the posters for the movie!
Important Added Info: Note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of this pressbook (if the back cover is not the poster page, we photographed the interior poster page), and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)!
