She was bitter-sweet 16 with a sudden awareness that she could completely destroy a married man..."; "Blonde, blonde hair. Soft, soft skin. Sixteen years old and a picture of innocence... waiting... waiting to destroy a man!"; "She is one of the youngest girls in his class. He is a married schoolmaster."; "all of 16...and she knew all the ways to destroy a man..."; "This is the way she had planned it...This is the way she would trap him."; "He thought of her as a child. She was one of the youngest students in his class."; "The wife who knew his weakness and never let him forget it."; "It was something else. Something about an older, married man that stirred her. And then it was hard to believe that she was only sixteen..."; "Based on an original novel by James Barlow"; "Winner Special Award Venice Film Festival 1962") starring Laurence Olivier, Simone Signoret, Sarah Miles (billed as "introducing the exciting new star Sarah Miles"; in her first role), Terence Stamp ("as Mitchell"), and Hugh Griffith NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that these stills appear in every way to be original U.S. release EXCEPT that there is one very tiny line of French type in the lower right of each still. It reads, "IMPRIME AUX ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE". A collector has told us that he believes this means the stills were printed for use in areas that included French-speaking parts of Canada, but that they WERE printed in the U.S., and that makes complete sense to us (and we have seen this on stills from the 1940s through the early 2000s, so it has certainly been done for an extremely long time)! So they are original stills from 1962, but they were printed partially for use in French-speaking Canada. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
