An Original Vintage Theatrical Deluxe 9 3/4" x 12 3/4" [25 x 32 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Madeleine Carroll was an English actress from the 1920s to the 1950s. She was a beautiful, classy blonde, just the type that Alfred Hitchcock would want for all of his later movies, and it is not surprising that she had starring roles in two classic Alfred Hitchcock movies: "The 39 Steps" and "Secret Agent". In 1935, Alexander Korda sold her contract to Paramount, and they put her in a series of movies, billing her as "the most beautiful woman in the world". Some of her other movies include: The Prisoner of Zenda, North West Mounted Police, and My Favorite Blonde. She passed away in 1987 at the age of 81. Important Added Info: This photo comes from the estate of Dorothy Credille, who was a Hollywood publicist in the 1930s to the 1950s. During the course of her work, she became personal friends and an acquaintance of all the top Hollywood stars, and she received many 8x10s and 11x14s from them, many personalized to her. Also note that this is a deluxe still printed on double weight paper stock. Also note that this still measures 9 3/4" x 12 3/4" [25 x 32 cm], but it has not been trimmed. Condition: very good. There are some creases in a 1" area in Carroll's hair just to the right of her eye, slightly extending into her forehead, but they are mostly only noticeable when the still is tilted to the light.
