The studios created both 3D posters and 2D posters (the 2-D posters were for theaters that lacked the 3-D equipment). This poster is from the French "3-D" release (the word "RELIEF" across the bottom of the poster was how the French described "3-D"! Also note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 14 1/2" x 19 3/4" [37 x 50 cm]. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster originally had a blank top that was neatly trimmed off (this is commonly done with Belgian posters, similar to how the blank top is trimmed off of U.S. window cards). The poster also had some faint smudges and dot stains scattered in the solid white areas. It had a tape stain in the bottom right corner and surface paper loss above it. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Learn More about condition grades
