The Eden Hashish Centre was a hippie magnet in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and was located in Kathmandu, Nepal. It was the largest of several legal storefronts in Kathmandu that provided quality hash and marijuana to locals and tourists. Advertisements (printed in India) often had the tagline "Let us take higher. Eden Hashish Centre, oldest and favorite shop in town serving you the best Nepalese hash and ganja". In late 1973, threats of the loss of foreign aid from the American administration of Richard Nixon forced Nepal to outlaw cannabis products and the Eden Hashish Centre was forced to close.
