An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More)

Inside Daisy Clover (also released as simply "Daisy Clover"), the 1966 Robert Mulligan coming-of-age melodrama ("'...and a special word of thanks to all the slobs, creeps and finks of the world. Without you my story could never be told...' - Daisy Clover"; "'Don't be a fink. Come see my movie!' - Daisy Clover [Your New Leader!!!]"; "The story of what they did to a kid..."; "Is your world full of finks and creeps? Wouldn't you love to put them all down? Meet your new leader, Daisy Clover."; "Millton Hopwood is a reform school drop out! - Daisy Clover"; "Daisy, tell us about your sister Gloria. Creep! Stoolie! Zero! And your husband, Daisy? The fink abandoned me in my first motel. And your poor mother, Daisy? There-is-nothing-wrong-with-my-mother! What about you, Daisy? Oh, I'm just an average, normal, well-adjusted young girl. Tell us about your movie, Daisy. Go buy a ticket, pal."; about a girl becoming a star in Hollywood in the 1930s and having to deal with her newfound fame) starring Natalie Wood (in the title role as Daisy Clover), Christopher Plummer, Robert Redford, Roddy McDowall, and Ruth Gordon (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film)

Important Added Info: Note that when we previously auctioned an example of this still, that one had "JUDY GARLAND - NATALIE WOOD" written on the back in pencil. While we know that the character in this movie was loosely based on the life of Judy Garland, we never before heard that she was either in this movie or connected with it, but the woman in this still DOES clearly resemble Garland at the end of her life, and could be her! Also, note that this still appears in every way to be original U.S. release EXCEPT that there is one very tiny line of French type in the lower right. It reads, "IMPRIME AUX ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE". A collector has told us that he believes this means the still was printed for use in areas that included French-speaking parts of Canada, but that it WAS printed in the U.S., and that makes complete sense to us (and we have seen this on stills from the 1940s through the early 2000s, so it has certainly been done for an extremely long time)! So it is an original still from 1966, but it was printed partially for use in French-speaking Canada. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

UPDATED 04/20/2015: Note that an expert on this movie tells us that while the film was loosely based on the life of Judy Garland (and others), the older woman in this still is almost certainly not Garland. Apparently, Jack Warner (of Warner Bros) was still displeased with Garland because of the box office failure of "A Star as Born", and it is unlikely she would have been on the set.
