A 1951 Realart Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

The Mummy, the classic 1932 Karl Freund Universal Ancient Egypt romantic monster horror thriller ("It comes to life!"; "The most amazing make-up ever achieved"; "Story by Nina Wilcox Putnam and Richard Schayer") starring Boris Karloff ("The Uncanny"; in the title role as Imhotep the Mummy), Zita Johann, David Manners, Edward Van Sloan, Arthur Byron, Bramwell Fletcher, and Noble Johnson (as The Nubian)

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this Realart re-release one-sheet, which is in itself quite rare, is a great alternative to spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on the 1932 first release one-sheet (and it has an entirely different image, with Karloff as the Mummy and Noble Johnson menacing Zita Johann).

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had a semi-circular tear starting in the bottom of the vertical foldline, in Johnson's forearm and running up through the background and through Johann's eye and hair, ending in the background to the right of her hair. There were some extra creases, tiny tears, and tiny bits of paper loss on parts of some foldlines, but none of them affected the title or the image of Karloff. There were some tiny staple holes around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed. When you look at the poster in any normal way, it displays great. When you scan over the entire image, inch by inch, you see the restoration of the tear at bottom center (but it is truly not distracting). I would think just about every collector would be thrilled to have this poster displayed on their wall!
