A Folded Two-Sided German Advertising Poster (measures 16 3/4" x 23 1/2" [43 x 60 cm]) (Learn More) NSU was a German bicycle , motorcycle , automobile and scooter manufacturer from 1873 to 1985. The company originally produced knitting machines, but began producing bicycles in 1886 and was instrumental in the early development of motorcycles in Germany. In the mid-1950s, NSU was the largest motorcycle manufacturer in the world by volume. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: It is interesting to note that the pre-World War II (WWII) map of Germany on this poster includes former eastern territories which were provinces or regions east of the current German border (the Oder-Neisse line) which were lost by Germany after World War II. These areas were part of the German Empire from 1871, and previously, of Prussia and Austria. They include provinces that historically had been considered "German", and others that only became "German" in 1871. Note also that this poster is double-sided, but not in the regular way. There is a different image on each side of the poster. We have provided an image of each side, and please realize that the winner of this auction will receive ONE poster! Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. The poster has some separation at the ends of the center horizontal fold and those areas are repaired with clear tape from the back.
