An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked French One-Panel "Grande" Movie Poster (1p; measures 45 1/2" x 63") (Learn More)

Monsieur Suzuki (released in the U.S. as "The Versailles Affair"), the 1960 Robert Vernay French France crime secret agent spy espionage thriller (based on the novel by Jean-Pierre Conty) starring Ivan Desny, Claude Farrell, Pierre Dudan, Danielle Godet, Celina Cely, Don Ziegler, Jean Tissier, Pierre Brice, Gabrielle Fontan, Robert Dalban, and Jean Thielmont ("in the title role as Monsieur Suzuki"). Note that, as was common in U.S. movies of the 1930s and 1940s, the title Asian detective of this movie was played by a French actor with much Asian makeup!
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
Artist: Jouineau Bourduge
Important Added Info: Note that this is a rare "country of origin" poster for this French movie!

Condition: good to very good. The poster had a Canadian censor stamp in the top right background area, tiny paper loss at some crossfolds, and some minor fold wear and some tiny paper loss around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer linenbacked the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above, but they are really not very distracting (and any restorer could easily touch them up without re-backing the poster).
