Important Added Info: If you have ever seen this movie or the publicity images from it, you probably thought (as we did) that there was no actual giant mantis, but that (through some sort of "special effects") a small model was joined with the film of the people (similar to how King Kong was made, with an 18 inch King Kong). But actually, as this wonderful candid proves, they built a large movable model of the mantis, and then posed it in various ways, and took the film of that model and used it in the movie and in publicity shots. We don't know why they didn't have a smaller model, but certainly they must have had their reasons! If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this still measures 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm].
