An Original Vintage Linenbacked Play Poster (measures 21" x 55 3/4" [53 x 142 cm]) (Learn More) Buffalo Ranch Real Wild West, the 1910s poster ("A lesson in the history of pioneer days"; "Games of the real red men"; "Equestrian Football", "The Real Indian War Dance"; "Camel Races") promoting a traveling show inspired by the famous Buffalo Bill's Wild West show which was created by Buffalo Bill Cody in 1883. Note that this poster features art of Native American Indians, cowgirls playing "equestrian football" and men racing camels. If anyone knows more about this or the exact date of this circa 1910s poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster can be sent in a standard size tube, but because it is very long, it can't be combined with other linen posters, so that is why it is in this part of our Major Auction, together with linen posters that need to be shipped in very long tubes. Please bear in mind that it must be sent separately from other posters before you place your bid on this poster. Note that this poster ships in a very long tube (at least 33" long, but possibly 50" long or more). Therefore the shipping for this poster will be more than that for a poster that ships in a tube 32" or shorter, and possibly much more. Please bear this added shipping expense in mind before bidding on this poster. You can tell how long of a tube this poster needs to ship in by looking at the shorter dimension of its length and width and then adding 4" to that (so a 47" x 63" poster will need to ship in a 51" long tube). What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had some tiny bits of paper loss and tiny tears on small parts of some folds and some pretty minor border wear. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking, but I would say it has likely survived in as good condition as you could hope for a poster over a century old. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
