Date Sold 9/9/2010Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Folded World War II Propaganda Poster (measures 28 1/2" x 40" [72 x 102 cm]) (Learn More) Wanted! For Murder, the 1944 U.S. World War II (WWII) Home Front poster ("Her careless talk costs lives") advertising the implications of allowing information into the wrong hands. The poster is designed like an old fashioned western "wanted" poster, and it might seem "heavy handed" to today's world, but America during World War II was very conscious of not accidentally giving information to the enemy. Artist: Victor Keppler Important Added Info: Note that this poster (like most World War II posters) were widely distributed through the mail (to military bases and other locations). They were machine folded, and a very few of them have printing on the back of the area that was on the outside when it was fully folded, giving instructions on how the poster was to be used and displayed (see our image of the back of the poster). Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: fair to good. The poster has become brittle with age and there are tears at the crossfolds and large areas of separation along the foldlines. There is uneven discoloration throughout the poster.
