SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY ('46) SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY ('46) glass slide OR search current auctions Auction History Result 1c109 SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY glass slide '46 John Payne about to kiss Maureen O'Hara, William Bendix Date Sold 2/7/2010Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More) Sentimental Journey, the 1946 Walter Lang romantic terminal illness fantasy family relationship adoption romantic melodrama ("Based on a Story by Nelia Gardner White"; about an actress who learns she is terminally ill and then adopts an orphan girl so that her husband will have companionship after she is gone, but although she wants her husband to love the girl, he doesn't, until he finally wakes up at the end of the movie) starring John Payne, Maureen O'Hara, William Bendix, Sir Cedric Hardwicke, Glenn Langan, Mischa Auer, Kurt Kreuger, Trudy Marshall, Ruth Nelson, and Connie Marshall (billed as "and Presenting Connie Marshall"). Note that Connie Marshall was a teen actress who had been a child model, and she had a significant role in "Sunday Dinner for a Soldier" two years before this movie, and then she would have another significant role in "Dragonwyck" in this same year, but after that, as she aged, her career stalled (she was in some good movies like "Mr. Blandings Builds his Dream House", but she had a minor role), and in 1954, she quit acting and got married and raised a family. She was so forgotten that her passing in 2001 was not noted in the media until five years later. But for a few years in the mid 1940s, she was a top juvenile actress! Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: very good. The cardboard holder has staining around the staples, but otherwise it is in pretty nice condition. Learn More about condition grades
