An Original Vintage Folded Advertising Billboard Poster (measures approximately 9' x 12') (Learn More) Gulf Oil was a major global oil company from 1901 to 1985. It was founded in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania by the Mellon Family and was considered one of the so-called Seven Sisters oil companies prior to it's merger with Standard Oil of California. Like many other oil companies, they branched out into automotive services such as tires and service stations, but they also produced home products such as household pesticides. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was printed in 12 sections designed to overlap. When the 12 pieces are properly assembled, the poster measures approximately 9' x 12' (this is a very rough approximation, as billboards can vary in size). Note that this poster is NOT a movie poster, but was an advertising billboard poster created around the 1960s, and designed to be glued to billboards on the highway. This poster was clearly never used, for if it had been, it would have been glued to a billboard, and impossible to remove. Also, note that although this poster was never used, it was stored in a warehouse for many years, and has some smudging, staining, and light water staining. While the poster has survived in about as good condition as one might hope, given its very large size, please do not bid on this poster expecting it to be without defects, as it likely has many minor ones, especially along folds and around the edges.
