Date Sold 10/25/2015Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Autographed Scrapbook Page (measures 10 1/4" x 14 1/2") (Learn More) Kate Smith was a singer from the 1920s to the 1970s. Called "The Songbird of the South", the hugely popular singer is best remembered for singing Irving Berlin's classic song, "God Bless America". She passed away in 1986 at the age of 79. Important Added Info: Note that this item (which is a large scrapbook page) had four newspaper cut images glued to it, and Kate Smith personally autographed (signed) above them on the scrapbook page. The page was removed from the album. Our consignor is a very longtime collector of movie paper who purchased this item years ago, and it was signed, but he doesn't know how the signature was obtained, and he (and we) believe it is likely that the autograph is authentic. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. Condition: good to very good. The portion with Miss Smith's signature is in pretty good condition. The rest of the album page has tears and paper loss around the edges, but of course, the signature portion could be removed and framed either with one or more of the newspaper images, or with a repro or vintage still.
