An Original Vintage Theatrical German Hardcover Movie Campaign Book (measures 12 3/4" x 17 1/2" [32 x 44 cm]; 54 pages) (Learn More) UFA 1938-39, the 1938 German hardcover campaign book featuring art and information about upcoming UFA productions such as Am Seidenen Faden, Ultimo, Der Blaufuchs and many more. Note that this book has much artwork for the movies that were being made at that time, and this book is REALLY elaborate, with lots of full-page full-color images, and high production values (the UFA campaign books we have seen from after this are much simpler without color, and we suspect that they had to cut back on how much they spent because of the costs of World War II). Note that there are thin strips of blank paper inserted in between each of the full page illustrations. We are not sure why this was done, but it is how the book was created. We have included images of the cover of the book and several of the interior pages (and we did not make a big effort to find the best ones, and we really wish we could have pictured them all!). Note that even though this campaign book was sent to many theater owners, it appears that very few examples have survived (and surely German editions of campaign books are even more rare, both because of German World War II paper drives, and because the ones made during World War II have Nazi content!). I have been a collector of campaign books and related material for many years, and I know for certain that this campaign book is extremely rare! Condition: very good. The interior of the book has separated from the hardcover binding and there are many stains on the mostly blank covers, but the interior of the book is in really nice condition (see our images)!
