An Unfolded French Advertising Poster (measures 39 1/2" x 55 1/4" [100 x 140 cm]) (Learn More)

Kina-Lillet, the circa 1890s French liquor alcohol advertising poster (with a tagline that translates to "Request a Lilet!" and "The real brand") promoting the wine-based aperitif, and featuring art of a beautiful woman holding a fan next to an extra-large bottle of Kina-Lillet and two glasses. Note that Kina-Lillet was a liqueur made with white wine mixed with fruit liqueurs and flavored with quinine. The "Kina" in its name is derived from quinine's main ingredient: the bark of the kina-kina (or cinchona) tree!
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning!

Condition: very good to fine. The poster was never folded. It was likely bent while rolled resulting in a faint vertical line of light creases (between the "I" and "L" of the second half of the title to the bottom of the poster). There is a crease at upper right that has slightly torn the outer edge of the blank border there and someone placed conservation tape behind that area. The ultra rare poster is otherwise in very nice condition, especially considering its age!
