An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More)

Keep 'em Sailing, the 1942 Basil Wrangell "Crime Does Not Pay" true crime short ("Another thrilling CRIME DOES NOT PAY subject"; about the FBI working undercover to stop sabotage of American cargo ships) starring James Davis, Ian Keith, and George Travell. Note that this was one of the "Crime Does Not Pay" series of 35 or so short subjects distributed by MGM between 1935 and 1945 (it likely was the source of the Lev Gleason comic book of the 1940s as well). Each short would show criminals foolishly thinking they could break the law without retribution, but by the end of each short, they had learned that "Crime Does Not Pay"!
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.

Condition: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the top and bottom crossfolds and some creases and tiny tears in the top and bottom border of the vertical foldline. There was a partial vertical foldline in the top right of the image, with some tiny creases and tears in the background area along it. There were some creases, tears, and areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but the restorer left alone an area of paper loss in the top blank border, likely rightfully assuming that area will not show when the poster is framed.
