A Vintage German Hardcover Book (measures 6 3/4" x 8 1/4" [17 x 21 cm]; 144 pages) (Learn More)

Russische Filmkunst (literally translates to "Russian Film Art"), the 1927 German photographic film history book (with foreword by Alfred Kerr) documenting the history of the Russian film industry during the silent era with over 140 black and white images from many movies, including Battleship Potemkin (listed as "Panzerkreuzer Potemkin"), and many others (there is a complete index of the films inside the book on two pages, which we have photographed.) Certainly, someone could take these wonderful photos, which have an image size of 4 1/2" x just under 6" and frame any of them, but it would be a shame to disassemble this wonderful book, which is surely extremely rare, especially given the massive paper shortages during World War II, which caused the destruction of so much pre-World War II paper.
Important Added Info: TEN of the 12 images are displayed above, but there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other 2.

Condition: very good. There is some staining on the covers and wear at the top and bottom of the spine. Some of the interior pages have some slight brown darkening around the edges, but they are not at all fragile.
