An Original Vintage Theatrical German 7 1/2" x 9 1/2" [19 x 24 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Orlacs Hande (released in English-speaking countries as "The Hands of Orlac"), the 1924 Robert Weine German/Austrian silent horror thriller (about a famous pianist who gets new hands transplanted after a terrible accident, but unfortunately, they are the hands of a murderer, and the hands have a life of their own) starring Conrad Veidt, Alexandra Sorina, Fritz Kortner, Carmen Cartellieri, Fritz Strassny, and Hans Homma. Note that this movie was directed by Robert Weine, who also directed "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari" in 1920. Movie paper of any kind from this first silent version is incredibly rare (there was a sound remake of this movie, re-titled "Mad Love", in 1935, starring Peter Lorre in the lead role). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that, as noted above, this partial "country of origin" still for this German horror movie is incredibly rare. We have never previously auctioned any item from this movie, other than a postcard, before being consigned this still, along with another still, and we are auctioning both in two separate auctions. Also note that this is a German still printed on double weight paper stock. Also note that this German still has been trimmed and it now measures 7 1/2" x 9 1/2" [19 x 24 cm]. Condition: good to very good. The still has been trimmed to 7 1/2" x 9 1/2" (likely to fit a frame). Learn More about condition grades
