A Folded Advertising Poster (measures 28" x 42" [71 x 107 cm]) (Learn More) Gulf Oil was a major global oil company from 1901 to 1985. It was founded in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania by the Mellon Family and was considered one of the so-called Seven Sisters oil companies prior to it's merger with Standard Oil of California. Like many other oil companies, they branched out into automotive services such as tires and service stations, but they also produced home products such as household pesticides. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning! Note also that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: very good. The poster has minor fold and border wear and tiny paper loss in the upper crossfold. It has some very slight discoloration at upper left in the blank border only where it is not very noticeable or distracting. It is otherwise in pretty nice condition and it displays well!
