An Original Vintage Movie Script (measures 8 3/4" x 15" [22 x 38 cm], 53 pages) (Learn More) Gold Diggers of 1935, the 1935 Busby Berkeley romantic acting theater musical sequel ("Bigger than even before! A new thrill for movie-goers!"; "At last-Warner Bros sumptuous successor to the World-Famous 'Gold Diggers of 1933'"; "At last-First National's sumptuous successor to the World-Famous 'Gold Diggers of 1933'"; there is a loose plot about the guests at a luxury hotel, all connected to show business, but really it is just there to string together the many songs and dances) starring Dick Powell, Adolphe Menjou, Gloria Stuart, Alice Brady, Hugh Herbert, Glenda Farrell, Frank McHugh, Joe Cawthorn, Grant Mitchell, Dorothy Dare, Winifred Shaw, and Ramon and Rosita. Note that Busby Berkeley had directed the music and dance sequences in Gold Diggers of 1933, but the movie was directed by Mervyn Leroy. For this sequel, Berkeley was assigned to direct the movie as well! There was a second sequel made two years later, "Gold Diggers of 1937". There were also a few other "Gold Diggers" movies made in the 1930s! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this script is the "superimposed version" of this movie. What does "superimposed" mean? It was done in Europe for use in non-English speaking European countries, and sometimes the scripts would have added in a non-English language translation of every line to each script, underneath the line in English (so the entire English script is present). Other times, the scripts would not have a foreign language version added in (because this was done separately in the country the script was sent to). This was done when the movies were dubbed into non-English languages. The voice actors would simply read the lines and their voices would be added to the dubbed version. In the case of this particular script, there is no foreign language translation on the interior pages (only the English dialog is present; see our images). Condition: very good.
