The Singing Fool, the 1928 Lloyd Bacon romantic love triangle family relationship musical melodrama ("See and Hear"; "The Sensational Talking Singing Picture"; "From the play by Leslie S. Barrows"; about a singing waiter who becomes a Broadway star, and he gets married and has a child, but then his wife leaves him for a gangster; that causes him to become massively depressed, and he ends up a bum, but gets his old job back as a waiter, where a friendly cigarette girl helps him make a comeback; but then his son dies the night of his return to the stage, and he sings his son's favorite song!) starring Al Jolson, Betty Bronson, Josephine Dunn, Arthur Housman, Reed Howes, Davey Lee, and Edward Martindel

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this poster COULD possibly be an English poster, because it has dimensions that are similar to that of an English double crown, but there were also special U.S. posters around this size in the 1920s. We have never seen this poster before, and it is possible it was created for a local theater. If anyone knows more about this poster or the country it came from, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept the uncertainty as to its country of origin (but we feel certain it is from 1928 and from the movie's first release).

Condition: very good. The poster was never folded. There were some creases and scuffs scattered in the image with a few in Jolson's jacket, but none in his face. There were some pinholes, creases, tears, and tiny areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
