A Photocopied Movie Script (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm], 122 pages) (Learn More)

Rachel, Rachel (also released as "Now I Lay Me Down"), the 1968 Paul Newman (in his directorial debut!) romantic melodrama ("If you passed her on the street you wouldn't notice her... On the screen she is unforgettable."; "Who cares about a 35 year old virgin?"; "Who was she? Sometimes she was a child skipping rope. Sometimes she was a woman with a passionate hunger. And one day the child and the woman came together..."; "Based on 'Jest of God' by Margaret Lawrence"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; produced by Paul Newman) starring Joanne Woodward (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; in the title role as Rachel Cameron), James Olson, Kate Harrington, Estelle Parsons (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film; "as Calla"), Donald Moffat, and Geraldine Fitzgerald (billed as "Special Guest Star Geraldine Fitzgerald")

Important Added Info: Note that this script is a 1970s photocopy of the revised final draft from June 28, 1967 and the screenplay was written by Stewart Stern. Also note that the script has the working title "A Jest of God", but the movie ultimately was called "Rachel, Rachel". Note that this script includes photocopied markings that were on just a few pages, including the title page, so it is clear that this script was created AFTER the date listed on the title page, so bear that in mind before placing a bid on this script. When was it created? Our best guess is the 1970s, based on the paper and the way the script is bound. DO NOT BID ON THIS SCRIPT THINKING IT IS FROM WHEN THE MOVIE FIRST CAME OUT, BECAUSE IT IS A LATER PHOTOCOPY (but we believe it was made in the 1970s or earlier, and NOT at a later date).

Condition: very good. See our multiple images to get a good sense of the exact condition of this script.
