At the time this movie was meant to be a "daring drug expose", but it is now laughable and a camp classic, and posters from the first release of the movie in 1935 (and the roadshow releases that followed it in the late 1930s and early 1940s) are both rare and extremely desired by collectors. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is NOT an original 1935 poster from this movie, but it is instead a REPRODUCTION from 1967. It was created by Morgan Love and has some clear differences between it and the 1935 movie poster it is based on. But because it is similar in size to a window card, it can be mistaken for one. In the case of this specific reproduction, it had been trimmed and it now measures 13 1/4" x 18" [34 x 46 cm]. This trimmed off the information at the bottom that identified it as a repro. In addition, someone then linenbacked it (perhaps because they thought it was a 1935 poster). SO DO NOT BID ON THIS POSTER UNLESS YOU CAN ACCEPT THAT IT IS A 1967 REPRODUCTION POSTER THAT IS TRIMMED AND LINENBACKED, AND HAS OTHER DEFECTS AS WELL. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster was trimmed (see above). It also had many creases, scuffs, and some stains scattered throughout, with pinholes and tears around the edges. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking.
