Die Insel der Traume (released in the U.S. as "Lovers and Sinners"), the 1926 Paul L. Stein German silent Russia France Monte Carlo gambling romantic royalty melodrama (from the novel by Paul Rosenhayn; about a Frenchwoman in Paris, who thinks her dreams have come true when she marries a Russian prince, but he is not only broke, but he is also one step ahead of his creditors trying to collect his many debts, and they follow him to Monte Carlo, where he wins a fortune gambling with borrowed money, but then he blows it all on beautiful women who are not his wife, which finally opens her eyes to what a giant mistake she made) starring Liane Haid, Harry Liedtke, Alphons Fryland, Paul Biensfeldt, Jaro Furth, and Robert Leffler. Note that this was one of the silent German movies released in the U.S. The movie was released in Germany by UFA, who released it themselves in the U.S. through "UFA Films".
