Note that this poster features Gustav Lohr art of an African woman holding a child and a farming tool while standing in a field.

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had darkened. It had extra horizontal folds, including two running through the upper and lower part of the woman's face. It had tiny bits of paper loss scattered on parts of most folds. It had some pinholes and tears around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
