Date Sold 4/5/2015Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 6 Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Stills (Learn More) Kisses For My President, the 1964 Curtis Bernhardt romantic political comedy ("First male 'First Lady' takes Washington by storm"; "HE'S A REAL SWINGER. A right to the kisser kisses off South American dictator in bistro brawl!"; "FIRST OFFICIAL PORTRAIT of the husband of the first woman President of the United States."; "'FIRST LADY NO LADY,' says perplexed, apoplectic and apologetic President."; "STRIP TEASER NANA PEEL says Thad shed his inhibitions and bared his frustrations-in public!"; "Is America Ready?"; "When a woman becomes President of the U.S., what happens to her poor husband when he becomes the 'First Lady'?"; "'Excuse me, dear... Congress is calling!'"; "'Let me tell you about my father, the 'First Lady'... My name is Gloria. I live at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in a great big white house. It all began when my mother became the first woman President of the United States and my father became the wildest hostess with the mostest you've ever seen...'") starring Fred MacMurray, Polly Bergen, Arlene Dahl, Edward Andrews, and Eli Wallach. Note that this movie seemed like the absolute most wild fantasy in 1964, but now just 52 years later, Hillary Clinton came extremely close to being the President, and it is quite possible it will become a reality within a few years! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that these stills appear in every way to be original U.S. release EXCEPT that there is one very tiny line of French type in the lower right of each still. It reads, "IMPRIME AUX ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE". A collector has told us that he believes this means the stills were printed for use in areas that included French-speaking parts of Canada, but that they WERE printed in the U.S., and that makes complete sense to us (and we have seen this on stills from the 1940s through the early 2000s, so it has certainly been done for an extremely long time)! So they are original stills from 1964, but they were printed partially for use in French-speaking Canada. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: good. Some have yellowed pieces of tape around the edges (not put there for any restoration purpose). Some also have a large piece of tape on the back (not put there for any restoration purpose) that ripples the front and one has an additional piece that repairs a tear.
