In 1937, they made their first full-length animated feature, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", and later, they opened Disneyland, and have continued to be the leading producer of animation films there is. The company has changed named several times, being founded as the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, and in 1938 changing to Walt Disney Productions. In 1986, it was renamed to The Walt Disney Company. The company is the largest mass media company in the world, and operates several of its theme parks globally including Walt Disney World and Disneyland. In recent years, it merged with Pixar and also purchased the Star Wars empire from George Lucas.
