An Original Vintage Theatrical 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Sterling Hayden was an actor from the 1940s to the 1980s. Paramount had big plans for Hayden but he impulsively joined the OSS after the 1941 film Bahama Passage, leaving his beautiful wife Madeleine Carroll and fighting the Germans in all sorts of hair raising adventures in Yugoslavia. Some of his movies include: The Godfather, Dr. Strangelove (as Jack D. Ripper), The Killing, The Asphalt Jungle, The Long Goodbye, Suddenly, and more! AND Patricia Morison was an actress from 1930s to the 1980s. She had a very unusual road to stardom!; she was signed by Paramount in 1939 and was touted as a rival to their top female star Dorothy Lamour with the tagline "Lamour plus Lamarr equals LaMorison", but she did not achieve much success there, likely because she only got roles Lamour turned down, and she left Paramount and made low budget movies. It seemed she had a great break in 1947 in "Kiss of Death" when her suicide was shown on screen, but the producers decided audiences couldn't handle it and the scene was cut from the movie! In 1948, Cole Porter heard her sing and wrote the show "Kiss Me Kate" for her, and she starred in it on Broadway for 1,000 performances, and went on to a continued successful career in musicals on stage!
