An Original Vintage Folded Belgian World War II Poster (measures 24 1/4" x 32" [62 x 81 cm]) (Learn More)

Een Verhaal Voor Groote Menschen (literally translates to "A Story for Great People"), the 1944 Belgian World War II (WWII) recruitment poster (printed in Nazi controlled Belgium) featuring many artwork images by Jose Bertau. The poster tells the story of Gust, a Belgian metalworker, searching for work in order to support his family. He travels to Germany to work in a factory, and then joins a Waffen-SS division. He undergoes military training and takes part in combat, winning an Iron Cross for his service. In the final image, Gust is reunited as a successful soldier with his family. Note that French and Dutch versions of this poster were created and in the French version, the man is named Jean. Also, note that this poster was produced by the German Nazi occupying forces, because Germany had a massive labor shortage since almost all of their young men were serving in their military, and they brought in workers from countries they had occupied.
Artist: Jose Bertau
Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: very good to fine. The poster has very minor fold and border wear.
