An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More)

Penrod's Double Trouble, the 1938 Lewis Seiler juvenile mistaken identity family relationship comedy ("Based on the Penrod stories by Booth Tarkington"; about two friends who look so much alike that even their own families can't tell them apart, not surprising since they are played by identical twins!) starring Billy Mauch (in the title role as Penrod), Bobby Mauch (billed with his brother as "The Mauch Twins Billy and Bobby"), Dick Purcell, Gene Lockhart, and Kathleen Lockhart

Important Added Info: Note that this poster has a nice image of the Mauch Twins with a Scottish Terrier dog!

Condition: good to very good. This poster was linenbacked, and it had fairly significant defects which were somewhat repaired during the linenbacking process (we describe both the defects as well as the quality of the restoration below). You should also look at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!).

there was paper loss at each crossfold. The paper loss at the top crossfold was a thin strip approximately 1" wide; there were some tears and areas of paper loss down the vertical foldline; there was a long scratch that ran at the top center of the poster from the boy's forehead down through his mouth. The poster had pinholes in the corners and a few minor border defects. The poster was nicely linenbacked, but the scratch in the boy's face is still noticeable. If I owned this poster, I would have an expert restorer do additional restoration to that area only (which they should have no trouble doing without re-backing the poster), after which, the poster would look wonderful!
