Complete Set of 8 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) The Saint's Return (released in the U.S. in 1954 as "The Saint's Girl Friday"), the 1953 Seymour Friedman English England detective mystery crime film noir ("The Saint moves in! Blondes...bullets and blackmail can't stop him!"; "The Saint Hits London, mixing blondes... Bullets... And blackmail!"; "Set up 'The Saint' for the kill!"; "This is the sinner that sets up 'The Saint' for the kill... and sets off the most savage siege of violence London's underworld has ever known!"; "What does it take to stop 'The Saint'? Bullets? Blondes? or blackmail?"; "Based on Characters Created by Leslie Charteris") starring Louis Hayward (in the title role as Simon Templar aka The Saint), Naomi Chance, Sydney Tafler, Charles Victor, Jane Carr, and Diana Dors (in a minor role as "The Blonde"). Note that Diana Dors ("England's Marilyn Monroe") had a small part in the movie, but the U.S. distributors of it wisely recognized that she was a strong selling point, so she is prominently features on all the U.S. advertising, in a sexy dress, even though she is not billed on any of the posters! Note that RKO had made a movie based on The Saint in 1938, which starred Louis Hayward. After several other movies, where the character was played by George Sanders, RKO and Leslie Charteris had a falling out, and Charteris sued, and the case was settled out of court. In this 1953 movie, Louis Hayward returned to play the role for RKO, and it was released both under the title "The Saint's Girl Friday" and as "The Saint's Return". NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: very good. Each card has a Canadian censor stamp in an unobtrusive part of the image. Two of the cards have a small piece out of the top center edge of the image background. Some of the cards have a few minor creases and/or smudges in the borders.. Note that it is extremely time-consuming to individually describe the condition of each lobby card in a set of eight. Because of the large number of sets we sell, we will only note more significant defects in each individual card. We will NOT note every tiny border tear, stain, or pinhole. We provide an overview of the general condition of the cards above. You can look at our scan of all eight cards below for additional information as to the condition of specific cards, but if you can't place a bid based on our description above and our scan below, please do not e-mail asking additional questions about condition. Much as we would like to help you, we are far too busy to answer all the e-mails we would get. It might help you to know that we are very strict graders, we get less than 1% of what we sell returned, and that everything is returnable, no questions asked. BUT PLEASE DO NOT BID ON THIS ITEM UNLESS YOU CAN PLACE YOUR BID BASED ON THE INFORMATION WE PROVIDE. Learn More about condition grades
