An Original Vintage Folded Spanish War Poster (measures 19 1/2" x 26" [50 x 66 cm]) (Learn More) Madrid: The "Military" Practice of the Rebels, the 1937 Spanish civil war poster ("What Europe tolerates or protects. What your children can expect") produced by the Ministerio de Propaganda in multiple languages, protesting the death and destruction caused by German and Italian bombers, and featuring a graphic image of a dead child. Note that both Germany and Italy supported General Francisco Franco and his Nationalist forces against the Republicans during the Spanish Civil War, and posters like these were created to sway public influence against the Republicans (calling them "the Rebels"). The bombing were supposed to demoralize the Republican forces but instead strengthened their resolve. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good. The poster folded once in each direction and there is minor wear on the folds. There are tears and a few tiny bits of paper loss around the edges. Someone put tape on the back of a tear in the bottom center of the poster that extended into the "DR" of "CHILDREN" and on the back of a smaller tear next to it and there are some stains on the bottom border, some caused by the tape. There is also a piece of tape on the back of the middle of the right border. After a relatively simple linenbacking the poster will look great and will mostly only require restoration in the blank borders. Learn More about condition grades
