Artist: Emil Rudolf Weiss Important Added Info: Note that this German poster, which measures 23 1/2" x 32 1/2" [60 x 83 cm], was created in the 1950s, and it shows an advertisement for this German literary and art magazine, which was printed from 1899 to 1902. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the top two crossfolds and some tiny bits of paper loss in the top and bottom quarters of the vertical fold. It had a crease in the bottom of the "I" in "Insel" in the title. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above, but they are really not very distracting (and a talented restorer could touch them up without re-backing the poster).
