She was also the first black person to perform at the Metropolitan Opera in 1955! Some of her songs include: Softly Awakes My Heart, Adeste Fideles, Trampin', and Nobody Knows the Trouble I've Seen. She passed away in 1993 at the age of 96. Important Added Info: Note that this publicity still has been personally autographed (signed) by Marian Anderson! This great publicity still is from 1946, from when Miss Anderson performed in Vancouver, Canada (we know because the back is stamped by "Hilker Attractions Ltd.", which was the company that managed her during her Canadian appearance during that year). Our consignor is a longtime memorabilia dealer who has purchased autographs several times over the past 30 years, and he feels certain that this signature is authentic. Condition: very good.
