Date Sold 11/20/2016 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. a lot of 30 Vault of Horror full-color reprint comic books starting with #1 from October 1992 and ending with #29 from October 1999. Also included is the Gemstone reprint of War Against Crime #1 from April 2000. They originally retailed for prices ranging from $1.50 to $2.50 each. If you have never read an E.C. comic, know that they were the absolute finest comic books ever created (publisher Bill Gaines inherited the company when his father died, and in a few short years, he put out hundreds of wonderful comics, and the most famous of these was Tales from the Crypt). The comics were more aimed at adults than children, and there was a Senate investigation as to their effect on children, and that drove Gaines out of business, and he turned one of the comics, MAD, into a magazine, which made him more successful than ever, selling millions of copies a month! WARNING: If you have never read an E.C. comic, know that they can be incredibly addictive, so you may well find yourself compelled to buy the entire series! Measurements: each measures approximately 7" x 10"Condition: very good to fine. A few of these reprint comics have slight wear, but they are generally in really nice condition!
