(literally translates to "German People!"), the 1919 German political poster urging citizens to vote for the Nationaldemokratische Party (German National People's Party) to avoid a grim fate. This poster features caricature art of a funeral procession with an anti-Semitic, anti-socialist (note the red cap) and anti-clerical message. The German National People's Party (Deutschnationale Volkspartei or DNVP) was a national conservative party in Germany during the time of the Weimar Republic (1918 - 1933). Before the rise of the Nazi party, it was the major conservative and nationalist party. It was an alliance of nationalists, reactionary monarchists, volkisch, and antisemitic elements, and supported by the Pan-German League.
