An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

The Midnight Express, the 1924 George W. Hill silent romantic action adventure crime melodrama ("The story of a railroad man who could not be sidetracked"; about the son of the president of a railroad who is disowned for being a playboy, and he takes a job on the railroad to prove himself to his father, and after many adventures, including stopping a runaway train, he becomes a hero and is redeemed in the eyes of his father and also the girl he loves) starring Elaine Hammerstein, William Haines, George Nichols, Lloyd Whitlock, Edwin B. Tilton, "and an all star cast". Note that William Haines was in his second year of movies when he made this one, and he had only had minor roles previously. He was actually the star of this movie, but because he was an unknown, he was second billed to star Elaine Hammerstein, and he wasn't even billed on the title card! Of course, a few years later, he would become a major star, but then his career was derailed when he had to choose between being a star and being gay!

Important Added Info: Note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: good to very good. There are some faint brown circular water stains around the edges of the card and a diagonal crease in the bottom right corner. There were creases in the top corners, with tiny paper loss in each blank corner, and someone put tape and paper on the back of those areas, and also a piece of tape on the back of a 1" tear in the right border. There is some red paint or marker on some of the letters of the title, which makes it seem possible that the colors of the letters have faded (see our image).
